Artidoro Rodríguez Café
Why we recommend it
Artidoro Rodríguez Café occupies a spot on Calle Tarata, half a block from Parque Kennedy, and works as the shop window of a brand that is a roaster before it is a café: its store sells single-origin coffee from Amazonas, Cajamarca, Villa Rica, Cusco and Puno. In the cup, what comes up most in diners' photos on Google is the cortado, the americano and the cold brew, and the house builds breakfast combos with croissants, avocado toast and eggs. Our read: this is genuine specialty coffee — the focus is on the bean and its origin rather than on pastry — which is why it works better in the morning than for lingering; the nomination for Specialty Coffee Shop at the 2026 Premios Somos points exactly there. Practically: on Sundays it closes at 3pm, the entrance is wheelchair accessible, cards are taken, and Google marks the place as LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space; there is no parking of its own. Curation note: the hours loaded are those the house publishes on its locations page (8:00 to 21:00 Monday to Saturday); Google lists 7:30 for this branch and a Sunday starting at midnight, which is plainly a listing error. The only owner-posted photo available is a promotional poster with overlaid text, so the entry carries no images.
