Asakusa Sushi Bar
Why we recommend it
Asakusa occupies a stone-fronted house at Av. Javier Prado Este 2994, on the San Borja side, with a terrace and its own parking. The menu is sushi and Japanese food in the Lima style: the all-you-can-eat maki bar and the teriyaki wings are what Google highlights as most popular, and diners' photos also show bento, tonkotsu ramen and fried rice. It has a bar, a private dining room and, according to Google, happy hour deals. Our take: this is volume-and-celebration sushi rather than a chef's counter; you come to eat makis without limits, as a couple or with a big group. Google marks reservations as required, so it is worth calling ahead, especially Thursday to Saturday. Curation note: the official website only says lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and lunch on Sunday; we loaded Google's more detailed hours, which run Sunday until 9 p.m.
