Costazul Seafood
Why we recommend it
Costazul occupies a corner on Calle Berlín, in Miraflores, behind a façade of seaside murals. The restaurant says it was founded by its current manager's father in 1989 and describes itself as a fish and seafood house at affordable prices; Google highlights the Costazul ceviche and octopus muchame, and fried seafood jalea, paella, picada and pisco sour are among what diners photograph most. Our take: it is a family seafood house with craft and more than three decades in the neighbourhood, working equally for the tourist after a first ceviche and for an unpretentious Miraflores lunch. It closes early —Google lists 8:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Sundays— and does not open on Tuesdays; reservations go through Mesa 24/7 and dogs are welcome. Curator's note: the restaurant's website lists Monday to Saturday from 12 to 8 p.m., while the claimed Google listing shows 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Tuesdays closed; we loaded the Google hours as the more detailed source.
