Cocina criolla en el Parque La Muralla, junto al río Rímac · cercado de lima · $$
La Muralla Restaurante
Why we recommend it
La Muralla is at Jr. Amazonas 121, inside the park that preserves a stretch of Lima's old city wall, between the Rímac River and the Plaza de Armas, with terrace and outdoor seating. Its website presents a Creole kitchen of traditional recipes: house ceviche, parihuela with crab, seafood rice, pescado a lo macho, lomo saltado, ají de gallina and olive rice with grilled octopus. Our take: it is a Creole lunch as part of a walk through downtown, aimed more at families, tourists and groups than at a chef-driven visit; the park is part of the plan. It opens daily from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the house warns that hours may change due to government events in the Historic Center, and it takes reservations, including for groups, via WhatsApp. Google notes paid parking in the area.
