La Vista operates inside the JW Marriott Lima, at Malecón de la Reserva 615, across from Larcomar. According to the hotel, its cooking is Peruvian-focused with dishes by chef Rafael Casín and is organized around daily breakfast and lunch buffets, à la carte lunch, an afternoon tea buffet and a Sunday family lunch; diners' photos show ceviche, burgers and coffee. Our take: it is a hotel restaurant that does its job competently —table service, a wide buffet, long hours— and is best thought of for a business breakfast, a Sunday family lunch or a visit with hotel guests, not as a culinary discovery. Practical notes: breakfast runs 6 to 11 a.m., lunch 1 to 4 p.m. and dinner 7 to 10:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday (no dinner on Sunday); the dress code is casual and bookings are via Mesa 24/7 or by phone.
