Cafetería de café peruano de especialidad en el Jr. Carabaya · cercado de lima · $
Lima Café
Why we recommend it
Lima Café is at Jr. Carabaya 552, a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas, and has a second location on Jr. Camaná. The house says it started 19 years ago downtown with the idea of serving freshly ground and roasted Peruvian specialty coffee; it works with origins such as Tunkimayo (Puno), Villa Rica (Pasco) and Rodríguez de Mendoza (Amazonas), which it also sells as beans. Our take: it is the downtown coffee break that takes the bean seriously, more useful for a coffee and something sweet between errands and walks than as a brunch destination. It opens Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m., until 10 p.m.; it is closed on Sundays. Curatorial note: the website lists a mobile number and Google a different landline; we used the website's.
