Restaurante Farolito de Surco
Why we recommend it
El Farolito de Surco sits on the third block of Av. Camino Real in old Surco, in a large house with a wooden door and a dining room dressed in wood and rustic objects. It presents itself as a 'restaurante turístico' and cevichería: its social media show a trío marino, parihuela, duck rice on Sundays, hen broth, caldo verde, sancochado and rotisserie chicken with fries. Our take: it is an old-school Creole dining room, more about the long family lunch and an extensive menu than about specialization. Google lists a bar, wheelchair access, high chairs and free parking; it takes reservations. It opens daily from noon to 23:00 (Sundays until 22:30). Curator's note: it has no website of its own; contact details come from Google and its Instagram.
