About El Parque de Las Leyendas - Sede Huachipa Ate

The Huachipa branch of Parque de las Leyendas is on Av. Las Torres s/n, next to the Huachipa bridge, in Ate. For two decades it was a private zoo, the Centro Ecológico Recreacional Huachipa, until the Lima city government took over its management in August 2023 and gave it its current name (Gestión). Google describes it as having big-cat and primate enclosures, an aquarium and a dinosaur attraction; Caretas reports that its Bird Forest, over 2,000 m² with more than 100 birds of 13 species, reopened after a remodel in March 2025. Our take: it is the alternative to the San Miguel Parque de las Leyendas for people living in eastern Lima, more focused on the animals and without the archaeological component of the Maranga huacas. It opens every day from 9:00 to 17:00 (ticket sales until 16:30), and according to La República the 2026 prices are the same at both branches: S/ 20 adults, S/ 10 children aged 3 to 12 and S/ 4 over-60s; people with a Conadis card enter free with a companion. Curation note: the branch's own website (huachipa.leyendas.gob.pe) does not load, and the hours and phone number come from the Patronato's branches page on gob.pe.
