    Miraflores · 20 — 22 Jul

On a traffic-filled morning in northern Lima, the lives of a student, a traffic officer, a fare collector, and a combi minibus driver will cross paths in an unexpected event that will irreversibly transform their destinies. Colisiones, written and directed by Eduardo Ríos Cañamero, is one of the five winning works of the III Call for Support of the Performing Arts and Music by UPC 2025, which earned it a run at the Alianza Francesa de Miraflores 2026. This staging brings together a talented cast made up of Piero Rodríguez, Christian Ramírez, Jiro de la Vega, and Wedner Velásquez, who will bring to life a profoundly human and social story, set in an urban context that reflects the tensions, contradictions, and fragilities of our everyday coexistence. About the play Inspired by the physical concept of collision and by the complex problem of traffic accidents, the play offers a critical reflection on the social dynamics of cities marked by chaos, individualism, and a lack of empathy. Colisiones has been recognized for its artistic quality and thematic relevance. In this fourth season in 2026, the play returns after a three-year run with performances at the national and international level and several accolades that establish it as one of the most important stage projects of the Peruvian theater scene. Accolades Winner of the 3rd Cultural Projects Contest of the PUCP Office of Cultural Affairs 2023. Official selection of the WE:NOW Madrid International Arts Festival 2024. Honorable mention in the Letters category of the Yenuri Chiguala Cruz National Youth Award 2024. Official selection of the Theater in the Center Series by ICPNA Cultural 2024. Nominated for best show in the drama genre by Oficio Crítico 2024. Nominated for best Peruvian dramaturgy by the Teatro en el Perú Awards 2024. Official selection of the I Conera Culture Arts Festival 2025. Winner of the III Call for Support of the Performing Arts and Music 2025 by UPC Cultural. These accolades reflect the conceptual solidity and artistic excellence of the project, as well as its ability to engage with social issues in a deep and contemporary way. The play also has an accompanying published book containing commentary and analysis of the work, the original script, a text on the creative process from the perspective of dramaturgy, direction, and production, archival materials, photographs, and a map tracing the journey of all the characters.
