Why go

The idea is simple and disarming: people over 75 who always wanted to sing on a stage and never got to, finally do. Jorge Luna, Ricardo Mendoza, Mateo Garrido Lecca and Gisela Ponce de León act as hosts, not as stars.

Coming from the No Somos TV crowd you might expect pure comedy, and there's plenty — but the format lives on contrast. The laughter serves the emotion rather than the other way round, and that's exactly why the show worked from the start.

It's one of the odder things on Lima's listings: a comedy show whose real lead is someone who doesn't do this for a living. At the Canout, Miraflores.

About this event

New show by No Somos TV celebrating older adults: singers over 75 fulfill their dream of taking the stage. A moving night with Jorge Luna, Ricardo Mendoza, Mateo Garrido Lecca and Gisela Ponce de León at the Teatro Canout.

Practical info

Is it comedy or something more sentimental?

Both at once. There's plenty of humour, but the heart of the format is watching an older person do something they waited decades for.

Who hosts?

Jorge Luna, Ricardo Mendoza, Mateo Garrido Lecca and Gisela Ponce de León.

Family-friendly?

It's one of the few shows on this circuit that genuinely works for bringing an older relative — the subject speaks to them directly.
