About Museo de Sitio Huaca Pucllana

The Pucllana Site Museum is on block 8 of Calle General Borgoño, in Miraflores, surrounded by residential buildings; it is a Ministry of Culture site whose resources have been managed by the Municipality of Miraflores since 2005. Google describes it as the remains of a stepped clay and adobe pyramid of the Lima culture (200 to 700 AD); according to the Ministry, the museum was created in 1984 from excavations that began in 1981 and offers an exhibition room, a circuit through the archaeological zone and a native flora and fauna park. Our take: it is an easy huaca to fit into a stroll around Miraflores, and the night visit changes how you see the adobe compared with daytime. It opens Wednesday to Monday from 9:00 to 17:00 (closed Tuesdays) and has night hours Wednesday to Sunday from 18:45 to 21:00, except on the first Sunday of the month. Daytime admission is S/ 15 (reduced S/ 7.50) and night admission S/ 17 (reduced S/ 8.50); on the first Sunday of every month entry is free through the Ministry of Culture's Museos Abiertos. Google lists wheelchair-accessible entrance, restrooms and parking and flags it as good for kids; Google also lists a restaurant on site. Curation note: the domain that used to appear as the museum's website no longer belongs to it, so we link to its official page on the Ministry of Culture's museums portal.
