Why go
The CCE Lima and the Office of Education, Culture, and Tourism of the Municipality of San Isidro present a new Spanish Film Cycle, which over eight Tuesdays from June 2 to July 21 will allow the general public to discover a carefully curated selection of dramas and comedies, representative of the best Spanish cinematography of this century. The cycle aims to promote respect for multiculturalism and to encourage reflection on human relationships and diversity. Tuesday, June 2 — El olivo. Dir.: Iciar Bollaín, Spain, 2016, 94 min. Alma is 20 years old and adores her grandfather, a man who has not spoken in years. When the old man also refuses to eat, the girl decides to recover the thousand-year-old tree that the family sold against his will. But to do so, she needs the help of her uncle, a victim of the financial crisis, of her friend Rafa, and of the whole village. The problem is figuring out where in Europe the olive tree is.
