Why go
This June, the CCE Lima presents a singular initiative, Lima Cromática, selected in our third call for Artistic Projects in Public Space: an invitation to rediscover the Historic Center of Lima through color. Through guided walks as well as self-guided tours with portable kits across nine stations in downtown Lima, participants will be immersed in a sensory experience in which they will observe these places through viewers with acrylic chromatic filters (amber, magenta, blue, and yellow). An illustrated map will guide their route. The chromatic viewers not only change the color of what is seen, they open a question about time: what color was this? What color could it be? The goal is to enrich the public's perception of downtown Lima, using color to discover more about the history and architecture of Jirón de la Unión and its surroundings, prioritizing a closer reading that invites people to pause at spaces and facades to examine details that everyday passing-by erases.
