Why go

Before Lima had a visible LGBT circuit, there were musical revues and café-theatre — places where you could be something else for a while. "Perseo" recovers that history told by two of its protagonists, Coco Marusix and Naamin Timoyco, who didn't research it: they lived it.

The form is documentary theatre with projections and live music, and Mario Saldaña's framing is explicit: treat those revues as an act of resistance rather than a picturesque footnote. This is memory work, with everything that implies.

It's programmed as a late-night show on Fridays and Saturdays, a slot that fits perfectly — it's exactly when the thing the play remembers used to happen.
