About Casa Cultural Manuelita Saenz

The Casa Cultural Manuelita Sáenz is at Jr. Carlos de los Heros 277, in Pueblo Libre, and is part of the Ruta del Libertador promoted by the district Municipality. According to the municipal listing, it is an 18th-century colonial mansion that belonged to Manuela Sáenz, "the Liberator of the Liberator", and hosted meetings between Simón Bolívar, Antonio José de Sucre and generals of the Liberation Army. Inside it keeps part of the period furniture: desks, armchairs, tableware, mirrors and clocks. Our take: it is a private house with a museum vocation, closer to a historic parlour opened for talks and arranged visits than to a museum with set hours; it fits well into a walk around Plaza Bolívar and Pueblo Libre's national museum. Visits are by appointment only (the Municipality gives +51 942 043 926, also on WhatsApp; its director is José Zumaita Cevallos). Curation note: no opening hours or admission price are published, and the house is also offered as an events venue.
