About Museo Naval del Perú
The Museo Naval del Perú is at Avenida Jorge Chávez 123, facing Plaza Grau in Callao's Historic Centre, and is run by the Navy, not the Ministry of Culture. It collects and displays Peru's naval heritage: in 2021 Panamericana highlighted the «León Rampante» figurehead of the frigate Presidente, a replica of the schooner Sacramento, a colonial-era cannon and a large canvas of San Martín's landing at Pisco, spread across six areas. Our take: it is the natural companion to the Abtao submarine and the Real Felipe, a few blocks away; together they make a full morning of military history in Callao. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 16:00, according to Andina (2023), Google and the Ministry of Culture's cultural agenda, which scheduled a free-admission exhibition there in 2025–2026. Google lists it as good for kids, with an accessible entrance and restrooms. Curation note: the official website (museosnavales.mil.pe) does not load, the Google listing is unclaimed (the phone comes from there) and we found no published admission price.
