About Playa Arica
Arica is an open sandy beach on the Lurín coast, south of Lima, next to San Pedro. In summer the Municipality of Lurín staffs it together with San Pedro: lifeguard officers, an Immediate Care Centre with paramedics and first-aid posts on each beach (municipal statement, January 2025); in March 2026 it also held a shoreline clean-up. Adventure-sports guides list it with Pulpos and San Pedro as a bodyboarding beach, with medium-level waves. Our take: it is an open-sea beach for careful swimming or for getting in with a board, rather than a resort with a boardwalk and restaurants. Entry is free and there are no set hours; municipal parking costs S/ 0.80 per 30 minutes (about 600 spaces shared with San Pedro, 8:00 to 18:00, according to Panamericana in January 2026). Digesa rated it unhealthy in its early-January 2026 report (Perú21 and Caretas, 02/01/2026); the rating changes week to week, so check the Minsa Verano Saludable platform before going.
