About Playa de Pucusana
Pucusana beach sits at the heart of the town, next to Malecón San Martín and the cove, with the fishermen's boats pulled up a few metres from the swimmers. It is the stage for the Municipality of Pucusana's summer activities: the season opening with a sand-sculpture contest and water-sport demonstrations such as the "banana", and the Family Playathon it organised in January 2026 with the Municipality of Lima. Our take: more than a beach for lying in the sun, it is a visit to the port: you come for the fishing-cove atmosphere and the boardwalk, and swimming comes second. Entry is free and there are no set hours. In the Digesa report released in early January 2026 it was rated unhealthy (red flag); the rating changes over the summer, so check the Minsa Verano Saludable platform before swimming. Curation note: there is no official information on services (lifeguards, toilets) at this beach; Pucusana's paid-parking ordinance for summer 2025 applied to Naplo beach, not this one.
