About Playa Punta Negra
Playa Punta Negra is the beach of the resort town of the same name, south of Lima. The Municipality of Punta Negra lists La Pocita, Mirador La Cruz, El Perfil de Cristo, La Platita, El Gigantón and El Chanque as the attractions of its coastline. The 2026 beach guide by Somos (El Comercio) describes it as a wide, open-sea beach good for walking along the shore, with family seafood restaurants and simple lodgings nearby. Our take: it is a beach more for rest than for bustle, for unwinding or staying the weekend. Entry is free and there are no set hours. Digesa rated it healthy in its early-January 2026 report (Perú21 and Caretas, 02/01/2026); the rating changes week to week, so check the Minsa Verano Saludable platform. Curation note: we found no official source on lifeguards or parking for 2026.
