About Playa San Pedro
San Pedro is an open sandy beach on the Lurín coast, south of Lima, next to Arica. In December 2024 the Municipality of Lurín reclaimed its recreation area, which had been taken over by awnings, tables and chairs that tied access to buying from the food stands, and repaired the parking areas. In season the municipality provides lifeguard officers, an Immediate Care Centre with paramedics and first-aid posts (statement of January 2025), and adventure-sports guides list it as a bodyboarding beach together with Arica and Pulpos. Our take: it is Lurín's beach for driving down and spending the day with room to spare, without the boardwalk life of the resorts further south. Entry is free and there are no set hours; municipal parking costs S/ 0.80 per 30 minutes (about 600 spaces shared with Arica, 8:00 to 18:00, according to Panamericana in January 2026). Digesa rated it unhealthy in its early-January 2026 report (Perú21 and Caretas, 02/01/2026); the rating changes week to week, so check the Minsa Verano Saludable platform before going.
