Ache

Opened in 2012 by chef Hajime Kasuga, Ache has held its corner of Av. La Paz for over a decade. The menu is long — makis, nigiri, tiraditos, wok dishes, ramen, rice bowls — and that's both its charm and its risk: the cold bar is the consistent part (makis, acevichado rolls and scallops are what regulars come back for), while the hot kitchen is more uneven. Roomy, quiet enough to talk, a serious cocktail list, and servers who actually recommend well. Good for a long lunch, a group dinner, or a table on the pet-friendly terrace.
