Cafeladeria 4D — San Isidro

4D is one of those Lima addresses that gets handed down. Its best-known branch sits on the corner of Salaverry, and what people order there is two things at once: the gelato and the sandwich. The Grand Cru line is the serious one — Pistacchio Puro di Bronte DOP, Nocciola Pura di Piemonte DOP, El Amante with seven 70% cacaos, the Amarenatta di Ana María with Italian cherries in Belgian chocolate, the Cioccolato Dubái with pistachio and kataifi — and beside it sit the vegan sorbets made from pure fruit with no additives: lemon, passion fruit, lúcuma, pineapple, strawberry. The Doppiozero line is the sugar-free one. It opens at half past seven in the morning and closes at ten, or eleven on Fridays and Saturdays.
