Chicharrones del Inca Higuereta

Chicharrones del Inca has this branch on Jr. Preciados in Higuereta, a few blocks from the roundabout. The menu on its website leans on the large pan con chicharrón with sweet potato and salsa criolla, the combination for two with tamal stuffing, bread and coffee or chicha morada, and chicharrón by weight. Our take: a hearty, no-fuss Creole breakfast, and unlike the Caminos del Inca shop it serves straight through, which makes it handy for lunch or an early dinner too. According to Google it opens Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays until 1:30 p.m.; no reservations, cards accepted, street parking only. Curator's note: the brand's website and Instagram place the shop at Preciados 108 with phone 231-4424, while the unclaimed Google listing says Preciados 140 with a different number; we used the house's details.
