La Mora Pastelería & Cafetería

La Mora's Av. La Encalada 715 shop, in Surco, is a room of mosaic floors, wooden tables and cake cabinets, one of its three Lima locations alongside San Isidro and Miraflores. The house says its founder arrived from Germany in 1993 with a book of pastry and bread recipes, opened in 1996, and that since 2008 his daughter Pia has refreshed the offer without losing its homemade character. Today it sells whole cakes, pies, empanadas, sweet and savory bites and its own jams, and also works as a café. Our take: it is an old-school pastry shop with European craft, as good for an early breakfast with wifi as for picking up the birthday cake. This branch opens every day from 7:00 and closes at 22:00 (23:00 Thursday to Saturday); parking is on the street.
