Mariate — Arica
Why we recommend it
It is at Ca. Arica 478 in Miraflores, a few blocks from the óvalo. The house recounts on its own website that Mariáte was born from the family recipes of the woman it is named after, with the declared aim of "recovering the Peruvian tradition of making desserts at home, with the classic grandmother's recipe", and that it is now run by a mostly female family team; the menu is chocolate cakes, cheesecakes, pies, macarons and criollo sweets. Our read: the promise — home dessert rather than industrial display case — is exactly what sustains its 4.6 across 383 reviews, the brand's highest rating and among the highest in the directory for a pastry shop; the only thing Google flags as a highlight at this branch is, unsurprisingly, the desserts. The practicalities: it opens all seven days from 10 in the morning to 8 at night, takes no reservations and has no parking of its own. The entry records a 2025 Summum nomination in Pastry Shop and a 2026 Premios Somos nomination for Best Pastry Shop. Curation note: the brand has eleven shops in Lima — three in Surco, two in La Molina, three in Miraflores, and one each in Magdalena, San Isidro and San Miguel — and none of the others has an entry of its own in the directory; this one points to the Arica branch as by far the most reviewed. Google marks the accessible space and accessible parking as unavailable, though the entrance is accessible. The house website's hours say until 9 at night and Google's until 8: Google's were loaded, being day by day.
