El laboratorio de verano de Diego Muñoz en Punta Hermosa — abre por temporada · punta hermosa · $$$

Why we recommend it
It is at Jr. José Gálvez 233, at the junction with Av. García Rada, in the Punta Hermosa beach town at kilometre 35 of the Panamericana Sur. The house defines it as the creative space of the culinary team led by Diego Muñoz: a seasonal-cooking laboratory, with produce from sea and land, crossing Peruvian and international recipe books; among what Google records are the breaded pork cutlet and the tiradito with avocado and capers. Our read: this is not a restaurant that takes holidays but a project built around the calendar — "summer season in Punta Hermosa", says its own website — and that explains the most confusing datum on looking at it today: Google marks it temporarily closed because summer ended, not because it shut down. The practicalities, when it operates: Wednesday to Saturday from 1 in the afternoon to 10:30 at night and Sundays until 6; booking goes by email. The entry records a 2026 Premios Somos nomination for Best Seafood Restaurant, where it competes with La Mar, El Mercado and La Rosa Náutica. Curation note: the entry is left as a draft rather than archived, because "temporarily closed" here means out of season and the house still publishes its website and Instagram. The directory entry carried neither address nor district. With no hours on Google, those loaded are the house website's for the season.
