Amanda Portales is one of the voices that carried huayno on Peruvian radio for decades, and "Arte Puro II" is the second instalment of a show that states its case in the title: traditional music with no ornament and no genre-crossing, in its most direct form.
The venue is what makes it interesting. The Gran Teatro Nacional was built for opera and orchestra, with concert-hall acoustics, and giving that same treatment to harp, violin and an Andean voice changes how the music lands entirely. That's the strongest reason to go even if you know the repertoire by heart.
