Astrid Jones en AfrOeste Perú

In 2026, the AfrOeste artistic residency, co-organized for the past three years by the Cultural Centers of the AECID, brings to Peru a remarkable artist: the distinguished singer, composer, and actress Astrid Jones Ndjoli, born in Madrid (Spain) and of Equatorial Guinean origin. Over three weeks in Lima, between this coming September and October, Astrid will co-create and exchange ideas with artists and activists from the Afro-Peruvian organizations with which the CCE Lima is carrying out this residency: the cultural association Repercuté, the company Teatro del Milenio-Kimbafá, and Ashanti Perú, the civil association for the empowerment of young people of African descent. Since 2013, she has led her soul project Astrid Jones and The Blue Flaps, with which she has released the albums Stand Up and Shine, the latter in February 2025, which won the Enlace Funk award for Best Album of the Year.
