About Museo de Arte Contemporáneo - Lima

MAC Lima is at Av. Grau 1511, in Barranco: an industrial-style building surrounded by a terrace and a park where events and performances take place, with three galleries of 100, 200 and 1,000 m². Founded in 2013, it is devoted to promoting, researching and sharing contemporary art practices in Peru; its collection of modern and contemporary Latin American art includes works such as "La ejecución de Túpac Amaru X" by Fernando de Szyszlo and "La Scala Infinita" by Jorge Eduardo Eielson (official website). Our take: the visit is split evenly between the current show and the garden, and Google flags it as good for children. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 (last entry 18:30). General admission is S/ 12 for Peruvians and residents and S/ 20 for non-residents; students, children aged 5 to 12 and seniors pay S/ 8 (S/ 12 non-residents), under-5s enter free and Barranco residents registered as Amigos del MAC do not pay; on the first Sunday of each month box-office tickets are 50% off.
