About Museo Larco
Museo Larco occupies a white viceregal mansion surrounded by bougainvillea gardens, facing Parque Larco; the entrance is at Calle Navarra 169. The permanent exhibition walks through the cultures of ancient Peru, and the museum also opens its visitable storerooms —thousands of ceramic pieces arranged in display cases— and the Erotic Gallery, the room that draws the most curiosity. Our take: it is an archaeology museum you enjoy even if you are no specialist: the collection feels less like a warehouse than a considered route, and the gardens and the museum's own café-restaurant make the visit stretch out effortlessly. It opens every day, holidays included, from 9:00 to 19:00. General admission is S/ 50, with reduced rates for seniors (S/ 35), students and minors aged 9 to 17 (S/ 25) and children aged 3 to 8 (S/ 1); buying online gets a discount. Google lists wheelchair-accessible entrance, space and restrooms, and free wifi.
