Blu

Blu opened more than a decade ago, when Laura Lucangeli and Nicolás Palma — childhood friends, both with years in Italy — decided to bring Lima gelato made the way it is made there. She grew up around the craft in Rome, in the family business. The house rule is simple and expensive to keep: fresh fruit, respect the seasons, churn every day. Out of that come sixteen daily flavours spanning both shores: pistachio, fiordilatte and stracciatella alongside chirimoya, maracumango, coconut, algarrobina, raspberry, mint, muña and lúcuma. They also make bespoke flavours for restaurants. The mother shop is in Barranco, on the corner of Grau and 28 de Julio, with branches in La Molina and San Isidro. In 2026 it was nominated for best gelateria at the Premios Somos.
