Candelo

Candelo was built as a tribute to Lima's street-cart food. Renzo Miñán set it up and corporate chef Alonso Arakaki describes the cooking as neighbourhood flavours with technique and generous portions. The grill leads —anticuchos served with four sauces, crisp fried corn— but the menu stretches to cau cau, stuffed potato, ocopa, bondiola sandwiches and picarones. In 2025 it won Best Anticuchos at the Premios Somos. Our read: this is street food taken seriously rather than a gourmet version of it; and unlike the original cart, here there are tables, a bathroom and its own parking.
