Casa Tambo
Why we recommend it
Casa Tambo occupies a hundred-year-old mansion in Lima's historic centre, steps from Plaza San Martín, and much of its charm sits there: a skylit courtyard, rooms with chandeliers and gilt mirrors, a long bar, and a route through the house that reviewers describe more as a museum than a restaurant. The cooking is Peruvian with author turns —ceviche carretillero, lomo saltado, pastas, paella— alongside a wine list and cocktails. The Premios Somos named it Best New Restaurant in 2024 and Summum nominated it in criollo cooking in 2025. Our read: you come as much for the house as for the plate; Google lists reservations as required, and in the centre there is no parking of its own, only paid lots.
