Chicho | cocina de raíz | Barranco
Why we recommend it
Chicho Barranco is at Jr. Mariscal José Antonio de Sucre 409, a few blocks from Barranco's main park, and is the brand's second location, which keeps its original space at Av. Comandante Espinar 633 in Miraflores. It calls itself "cocina de raíz" (roots cooking), and what its Instagram shows is product-driven Peruvian cooking with careful plating: tiraditos with avocado and toasted corn, ají creams with fish, chicharrones with Creole sauces and wine pairings. Our take: it is a Peruvian restaurant for sitting down at leisure rather than a quick hole-in-the-wall, built for long tables and lingering; Google lists a terrace, a private dining room and vegan options, and the house declares itself pet friendly. It opens every day for lunch and dinner: Monday to Saturday from noon to 10 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 9 pm, with bookings through Mesa 24/7 or WhatsApp. Curation note: the Barranco menu is in a Google Drive folder; we did not load it.
