El Cántaro Restaurant Turístico

El Cántaro opened in March 1975 in the yard of a modest house in Lambayeque, with doña Juanita Zunini cooking for friends and family. From that home cooking — sautéed beef, cau cau, lentils — the menu drifted towards the festive dishes that define it today: duck rice, turkey pepián, kid goat with beans, northern causa, tamales and espesado. The point is that it serves them every day of the week, not just on Sundays. In 2026 it was nominated for Best Restaurant in the Lambayeque Region at the Premios Somos.
