El Mercado

El Mercado is Rafael Osterling's seafood venue in Miraflores, sister to his restaurant Rafael but focused on fish and shellfish in a lunch format. In 2025 it placed tenth at Summum. The menu turns on the day's catch — ceviches, tiraditos, tuna, scallops — in a bright patio with a relaxed but considered mood; it's one of those tables where midday stretches out over cocktails. It runs lunch hours only, Tuesday to Sunday, and weekends are worth booking since it fills up. It makes sense for a fish lunch with good cocktails, halfway between the informal cebichería and the tablecloth restaurant. Not a night plan: it closes mid-afternoon.
