Soft serve japonés y taiyaki recién hecho, en la Torre Larco · miraflores · $
Kōun
Why we recommend it
Kōun — こうん, Japanese for good fortune — is the project of César Rojas, a pastry chef who left a well-known Lima bakery to build an ice cream shop that would lift soft serve out of its fast-food reputation. The ice cream runs on four lines, vanilla, matcha, ube and the flavour of the week, and the other draw is taiyaki, the Japanese sea-bream-shaped waffle, a fish that signifies luck there; it is pressed to order and filled with dulce de leche, custard or anko, or in the premium version with Nutella or matcha custard. There are also three layered parfaits and a Japanese matcha bar. The Miraflores room is small, inside the Torre Larco; the second is in San Isidro.
