La Lucha Sanguchería Criolla

This La Lucha branch is in the Urban Plaza El Polo shopping center (El Polo 709), in Surco, with terrace tables. The chain opened its first shop in Miraflores in 2009, according to Perú Retail, and now has locations in several Peruvian cities as well as in Colombia and Mexico. Its best-selling sandwiches are chicharrón, turkey and roast beef, which the house pairs with fries and chicha. Our take: it is not a white-tablecloth destination but a reliable stop for a well-made sandwich at any hour, with the bonus of hours that stretch into the early morning. It opens every day from 8:00 and closes at midnight (at 2:00 on Fridays and Saturdays); it does not take reservations, and Google warns there is usually a wait.
