La Mora Pastelería & Café

La Mora is at Calle José Gálvez 491, a few blocks from Parque Kennedy, and is one of the brand's three locations along with San Isidro and Surco. Its turf is pastry and bread: the La Mora cake, lemon loaf, chicken empanaditas and bread baskets are the products the house itself puts forward, and diners frequently photograph the quiche, apple tart, waffles and Cobb salad. Our take: it is a well-run neighborhood patisserie-café, more useful as a reliable breakfast or afternoon tea than as a destination; free wifi and long hours make it a reasonable option for working for a while. Practical notes: it opens every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday), has valet parking according to the house, and Google says dogs are allowed inside.
