Mantra Indian Cuisine

Mantra sits at Calle Alcanfores 690, behind the Atlantic City casino, in Miraflores. Its website says chef Jay Patel, from Gujarat, founded the business in 2006 as a small family home-delivery project and now cooks traditional recipes in a dining room decorated like a home; samosas are among what diners photograph most. Our take: it is a family-run Indian kitchen rather than a franchise, with the Indian chef himself in charge, and Google tags it as romantic, with a fireplace, a bar and good tea and wine lists; the spend runs S/ 40–120 per person. According to its website it opens 12:30 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday and 12:30 to 19:00 on Sunday; Google shows slightly different closing times (21:45 and 19:45), so it is worth confirming. It takes reservations through its website and has a kids' menu.
