Mérito is an intimate Barranco dining room working an author's Latin American cuisine, crossing Peruvian produce with a Venezuelan root in the team. In 2025 it climbed to fourth at Latin America's 50 Best and entered the global list at No.26, fast progress for a place with so few tables. The menu is tight and changes often; diners single out the scallops, the fish curry and the lamb, in a sequence that holds together start to finish. Given the room's size, book well ahead — weeks, ideally. It makes sense when you want fine cooking without the rigid formality of a grand house, in a closer, counter-led format.
