Why go
Eugenia arrives at a border station and is detained. Nobody tells her why — not the soldier, not the officer, and not the play for a good while. What begins as an absurd, almost comic situation hardens into a power game with no obvious exit.
It's the Kafkaesque register applied to something that isn't abstract in this part of the world: bureaucracy as control, authority that doesn't explain because it doesn't have to. Sergio París directs, and the choice to keep the humour as far from relief as possible is deliberate.
Ages 18 and up. Six performances at Sala Quilla in Barranco.
