Thirteen ornamental fountains inside Parque de la Reserva, with the water, music and laser show at the Fuente de la Fantasía three times a night: a cheap evening walk that works as well for children as for adults.
Entry S/ 7
The Circuito Mágico del Agua (Magic Water Circuit) occupies Parque de la Reserva, next to the Vía Expresa in central Lima, and is run by Serpar, part of the Lima city government; it opened as a municipal project on 26 July 2007. There are 13 fountains —among them the Fuente Mágica, the Fuente de la Vida and the Fuente de la Fantasía—, and the latter hosts a multimedia show of water, music and laser lights at 19:15, 20:15 and 21:10 (official website); Perú21 notes that the circuit holds a Guinness record as a fountain complex in a public park. Our take: it is an evening plan rather than a daytime one, because the lit fountains and the show are what justify the visit; arrive before 19:00 to walk the circuit and stay for the first show. It opens every day from 15:00 to 22:00 and general admission is S/ 7 (tickets can also be bought online); children under 5 enter free with a physical ID and people with a Conadis card and over-65s pay half. Google lists wheelchair-accessible entrance and restrooms, a play area and that it is good for children.
