About Museo Señor de los Milagros
The museum is at Jr. Huancavelica 583, within the Las Nazarenas Sanctuary and Monastery complex in central Lima; it is also known as the Museo de las Nazarenas. According to the Municipality of Lima's tourism portal (Marca Lima), it opened on 17 October 2014 and has a temporary exhibition room, a thematic room on the history of the devotion to the Señor de los Milagros, and a room holding the ex-votos, decorations and honours given to the Cristo Morado; its pieces include images of the Virgin and saints, crucifixes, figures of Jesus, canvases of the brotherhood's founders and objects from the monastery. Our take: it is a small, specific devotional museum that makes more sense for anyone wanting to understand the October festival than for someone looking for a major collection of viceregal art; the wall of ex-votos is what stays with you. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 to 17:00. General admission is S/ 5; seniors and university students with ID pay S/ 3, and entry is free for children under 12 and people with a CONADIS card. Curation note: the museum has no website of its own; hours and prices come from the Marca Lima portal, and in October, the month of the processions, hours may change.
