Amarena Café Urbano

Amarena Café Urbano occupies a corner of Av. Mariscal La Mar, in Miraflores, and its public face is the terrace: a slatted pergola, strings of lights and planters separating it from the pavement. It is a specialty coffee house with an all-day menu — the photos diners post to Google keep returning to the granola, the caffè latte, the arepa, the pastrami, the pulled pork, the cakes and the chocolate-chip cookies — and Google credits it with a very good tea selection, a salad bar and live music. Our read: it is one of those cafés that works as a neighbourhood office and as a weekend brunch spot at once; the long unbroken hours (8 to 21, seven days) are what make it useful. Practically: there is free wifi, dogs are allowed, and the terrace is the best seat in the house; there is no parking of its own, only free street parking. Curation note: Amarena has two locations in Miraflores — this one, at La Mar 438, and another on Bolognesi 506 — and this entry points to the La Mar one. The house has no website of its own (the menu link Google shows, on foodyt.com, returns a 404), so no menu was loaded and the only image is the one from Google's owner-posted category.
