Bon Beef
Why we recommend it
The first Bon Beef opened in San Isidro in 1984, when a hamburger was still fast food and nobody thought to put huacatay on one. Gonzales Neumann chose it for exactly that reason: it was the easiest vehicle for getting a foreign palate to try Peruvian chillies. The place closed in 1992 after the bombings at the shopping centre that housed it, and only in 2014 did the family reopen it — now with Guillermo Jr. and Lorena — as casual dining. The beef is certified American Angus, and the patties, artisan buns, sauces and sides are made daily at their own plant. The operation is carbon neutral, with recycling and reforestation behind it. Today it runs at Patio Panorama in Surco, with a terrace. In 2025 it was nominated for best burger house at the Premios Summum.
