Cannata
Why we recommend it
Cannata — that is how the house signs itself, with a double N — is one of Chiclayo's fixed addresses. It works as a shop and a restaurant at once, and the day starts early: it opens at seven in the morning and breakfast is what people come for, with its marraqueta, the pan con chicharrón and freshly baked empanadas. It is a coffee place too: Google singles it out for the coffee and for its tea list. Lunch and dinner follow until nine, with the northern cooking and the baked dishes that made its name. There are tables outdoors, and it is one of the few places in the city where bringing children is no trouble. Enrique Cannata founded it and the family keeps it going. It closes on Mondays and on Sundays works only until three. In 2025 it was nominated for best restaurant in Lambayeque at the Premios Summum.
