Chifa China occupies a wide dining room on Avenida Francisco Bolognesi, in central Chiclayo, and works the way chifas always have: two sittings, big tables, and a menu that runs from shaomai and crab rangoon to chaufa rice, noodles and sweet-and-sour chicken, with vegetarian and vegan options flagged. It also keeps a tea list that Google singles out. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from midday to three and from half past six to half past ten — Mondays closed — and with more than a thousand reviews it holds above four stars. Our read: this is a long-table, whole-family place rather than a dinner for two; it takes bookings, and for the weekend evening sitting they are worth using.
