El Jardín de Jazmín

El Jardín de Jazmín occupies unit 107 at Av. Alfredo Benavides 571, in Miraflores, with terrace and outdoor seating. It is a vegan restaurant: on its Instagram it calls itself plant based and Peru's first vegan restaurant, since 2013. Diners' photos show burgers with potatoes, polenta, sandwiches, squash soup, plant-based ceviche, juices and green tea ice cream, plus beer and cocktails. Our take: this is vegan cooking of recognizable comfort food, more about cravings and lingering than about manifestos, which is why it also works for non-vegans; it has wifi, a bar and a kids' menu. Practical notes: it opens every day from 10:00, until 22:00 Sunday to Wednesday and until midnight Thursday to Saturday; it takes reservations. Curation notice: it has no website of its own, only Instagram, and the 'first vegan restaurant' claim is the house's own, which we did not independently verify.
