La Bodega Verde
Why we recommend it
La Bodega Verde occupies a house with a wooden entrance and greenery at Jr. Sucre 335A, a few blocks from the Puente de los Suspiros; it is the original location of a brand that now also runs a second spot at Av. El Sol Oeste 203 and a café inside the MALI museum. The house itself celebrates fifteen years "sharing stories in Barranco". The menu is all-day café fare: breakfasts, sandwiches, juices, matcha and specialty coffee, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Our take: it is less a restaurant than the neighborhood's living room, useful for a long breakfast or an afternoon with a laptop. It opens Monday to Sunday from 7 am to 10 pm, according to its Instagram. Curator's note: the Google listing is unclaimed, the phone number comes from it, and the wifi and payment details were taken from aggregators; the kids' workshops the brand advertises take place at the El Sol location, not this one.
